Serenity

Week #3 - Serenity

Some people get massages or curl up with a cup of tea and a book to find peace.  Maybe garden or do yoga.

I surround myself with Disney.  It's my home away from home.  I get my fix listening to the music of Disney, mostly care of MouseWorld Radio and Live365.  Certain songs will whisk me away and sometimes I feel like I've never left!  (I wish!)

Shadow

This was a hard one for me, I'm not overly artistic...which is why it's late...haha!  But shadows in my favorite place...yeah, that sounds about right!

Christmas in Disney

One of my favorite times to go to Disney is at Christmas.  Maybe because it was the first time I got my honeyman to go and he "got it" much to my extreme delight!  It's so nice to be a Disney Nut and to be married to an up and coming Disney Nut!  These are some memories from that first trip:

3-D Mickey Card

April (over at http://www.scrappingthemagic.com/) showed us this 3-D technique.  Since I am also an independent travel consultant, I decided to make a card for one of my clients for their next next trip.  To make the Mickey head, I used two different sized circle punches and about 12-13 circles for each part.  You fold them them in half and glue them together.  The title and message inside the card were done using the Cricit with the Mickey Font.  And I do 'love that mouse'!

Disney Autograph Books

I made these autograph books for all my nieces and nephews (and one for myself!) when our entire family took a trip to WDW.  This is based on a Cricut pattern card I picked up at Michael's.  Mine were a little smaller because I have the baby bug.  And I also found out that the Cricut doesn't really cut chipboard (or at least not the one kind of chipboard sold at Michael's at the time) - and Michael's was very good about returning the blades and unused chipboard.  So I improvised on the covers - just layered about 4 pieces of cardstock, then laminated them.  I added about 15 sheets of Mickey head paper in each book for autographs.  A ring adorned with ribbon held them together.  And I put a small sharpie with a keyring loop on each one.  We found out the characters prefer the larger markers...  But they worked!

My First Layout

I resisted scrapping for as long as I could.  The Cricut is what got me.  Love that little bug!  This is my very first layout.  It's a little plain, but I love the clean lines and of course it's my favorite subject!

Pirates at Flower & Garden and Around the World

Every year Epcot hosts the Flower and Garden Festival in the spring.  And each year they create many topiaries with a theme.  Well the year it was Pirates, we were fortunate enough to be there!

Pirates of the Caribbean

The Pirates of the Caribbean rides and attractions have alway been guest favorites, even before the movies.  But now they have taken on a whole new level of popularity!  I love Pirates and discovered both rides are similar at Disneyland and WDW (my blog's namesake...Scarlett, for instance), however there are some differences.  One major difference being the restaurant Blue Bayou in Disneyland.  Yummy!

A Mad Tea Party

I love all things Alice in Wonderland!  I'm a traditionalist when it comes to Disney and Alice, but I'm liking the new Alice more and more.  However, this layout is about our Adventures in Wonderland at the Disney Parks!

Hidden Mickey Tour

At the last (on land) Magic Meets in 2009 I had an opportunity to bid on a Hidden Mickey Tour with Dr. Steve Barrett, author of the Hidden Mickey books.  This was a silent auction and it came down to the last second!  Well, I actually didn't win.  The auction was benefitting Lou's Dream Team, so Dr. Barrett offered a second tour to 2nd place - therefore I won too!

What is a Hidden Mickey?  It's an image of Mickey, hidden in the parks and resorts, or on a ride.  Something the Imagineer's do to have a little fun and another level entertainment for the guests.  Sometimes there are other hidden characters or nods to previous rides or attractions.  We decided to tour the Magic Kingdom:
