Butterfly Note Cards

Sticking with the theme of my butterfly birthday card, I made some note cards with my Close to My Heart butterfly stamp set.  I'm not an experienced stamper, so I just played around to see how different color combinations and accents worked together.

Butterly Birthday Card

My mother loves butterflies...any flutterbug really.  This is a simple birthday card I made for her one year.  The stamp is a Close to My Heart butterfly set and I used a red/orange ink.  Colored pencils and a gem finished the image.  The happy colors made me smile!

Christmas in Disney

One of my favorite times to go to Disney is at Christmas.  Maybe because it was the first time I got my honeyman to go and he "got it" much to my extreme delight!  It's so nice to be a Disney Nut and to be married to an up and coming Disney Nut!  These are some memories from that first trip:

Tropical Birthday Cards

I picked up these kits at my local scrapbook store.  They are based on a Hero Arts design.  This was also the first time I got to play with Copic markers.  Love them!  What fun!  It was a slow night, so the lady sat down and showed me how to blend colors.  So not only did I get two great little cards, but some valuable knowledge too!

3-D Mickey Card

April (over at http://www.scrappingthemagic.com/) showed us this 3-D technique.  Since I am also an independent travel consultant, I decided to make a card for one of my clients for their next next trip.  To make the Mickey head, I used two different sized circle punches and about 12-13 circles for each part.  You fold them them in half and glue them together.  The title and message inside the card were done using the Cricit with the Mickey Font.  And I do 'love that mouse'!

Our Wedding (Post #4)

This kiss, this kiss!  I have a feeling that if we weren't surrounded by family and friends, we would have ended up on the sand...  A moment I reflect on often and one of my favorite pictures!  And now we are man and wife.  Let the party begin!

Our Wedding (Post #3)

Honeyman's brother, "Reverend" Bob, married us.  The ceremony was mostly based on the Father of the Bride wedding ceremony, however we wrote our own vows.  We both got misty and shaky and laughed a little too.  Everyone moved in close, so we were surrounded by our family and friends.

Our Wedding (Post #2)

Our day is finally here!  I did most of the prep work - 'cause I love that kind of thing - and the people at The Princess Royale were fantastic!  We did a rehearsal and had dinner the night before, of which I have no pictures...or at least cannot find them 8 years later!  And the night before we had a pre-party in our room as some of the guests arrived.

But here the day begins:

Top Left: Me with my "Bridesboys" who squired me around and helped me stay on time.
Top Right: One last look.
Bottom Left: View of our ceremony site.
Bottom Right: The Mulfinger Boys - (from the right) Honeyman, his brother (who married us) and his son.

Top Middle: Callie, my bridesmaid.
Top Right: Waiting for it all to begin.
Bottom: My parents escorting me "down the aisle" - the sandy aisle.

Our Wedding (Post #1)

I married my best friend back in 2003...and started working on my wedding album in January 2011.  It's now November 2011 and I'm still not done!  Maybe for our 9th anniversary!

We got married on the beach in Ocean City, Maryland and our theme was beachy - but not over-the-top.  Our colors were shades of periwinkle blue (from dark to light) with an accent of pink.  My mother made my dress and my honeyman's shirt.  We had the best day, best wedding weekend really, and I would do it all over, again and again...it was better than Cats.

Mom and Me Album (Post #1)

For my mom's birthday a few years back, I decided to make her an album.  The theme I chose was "Mom and Me" - and it can be viewed from her persepective, her and her mom - or from my perspective my mom and me (and granny).

She loves flutterby's and flowers and her garden, so I chose papers and embellishments that reminded me of her spending time outside in the garden.  This is a chipboard album, all the paper was glued down, trimmed away and filed down so the edges are nice and smooth, then they were inked for an aged look.  All the pictures had their corners rounded and edges inked (and all mats too).  Shadowed Cricut titles and ribbons on the rings make the perfect fininishing touch!

Disney Autograph Books

I made these autograph books for all my nieces and nephews (and one for myself!) when our entire family took a trip to WDW.  This is based on a Cricut pattern card I picked up at Michael's.  Mine were a little smaller because I have the baby bug.  And I also found out that the Cricut doesn't really cut chipboard (or at least not the one kind of chipboard sold at Michael's at the time) - and Michael's was very good about returning the blades and unused chipboard.  So I improvised on the covers - just layered about 4 pieces of cardstock, then laminated them.  I added about 15 sheets of Mickey head paper in each book for autographs.  A ring adorned with ribbon held them together.  And I put a small sharpie with a keyring loop on each one.  We found out the characters prefer the larger markers...  But they worked!

Persephone Becomes a Mama

In 1998 my kitty, Persephone (or Percy) became a mommy!  When I got her she was a skinny little thing, about a year old, found at Camden Yards.  She got big very fast and I just thought she was under nourished from being homeless, turns out she was prego!  I guess due to her circumstances she only had a litter of two kittens - Magick (1998-2002) and Mystick (1998-2010).  Persephone is still around and keeping us in check with her clear blue-eyed gaze.

Circle Chirstmas Cards

Here are my Christmas cards for the swap I'm involved in this year.  I found this idea from a card on Pinterest and changed it up a little.  All the circles are are hand-punched from a 1" scallopped round punch.  I trimmed the front of the card about a 1/2" inch from the bottom to line up the bottom row, overlapping slightly.  Then measured up about a 1/2" inch for each row and set them off center.  White and red polka dot grosgrain ribbon add texture.  A few shiny, popped snowfakes for flair.  The "ho ho ho" is a Cricut title and "tis the season" is a rubon.

My First Layout

I resisted scrapping for as long as I could.  The Cricut is what got me.  Love that little bug!  This is my very first layout.  It's a little plain, but I love the clean lines and of course it's my favorite subject!

Trifold Shutter Christmas Card

I picked this card up as a kit at my local scrapbooking store and it's become one of my favorite cards.  It's a little confusing at first - lots of mountains and valleys...score here, cut there.  But it sure is cute!

This is the kit card.

This is my interpretation.

Pirates at Flower & Garden and Around the World

Every year Epcot hosts the Flower and Garden Festival in the spring.  And each year they create many topiaries with a theme.  Well the year it was Pirates, we were fortunate enough to be there!

Pirates of the Caribbean

The Pirates of the Caribbean rides and attractions have alway been guest favorites, even before the movies.  But now they have taken on a whole new level of popularity!  I love Pirates and discovered both rides are similar at Disneyland and WDW (my blog's namesake...Scarlett, for instance), however there are some differences.  One major difference being the restaurant Blue Bayou in Disneyland.  Yummy!

A Mad Tea Party

I love all things Alice in Wonderland!  I'm a traditionalist when it comes to Disney and Alice, but I'm liking the new Alice more and more.  However, this layout is about our Adventures in Wonderland at the Disney Parks!

Hidden Mickey Tour

At the last (on land) Magic Meets in 2009 I had an opportunity to bid on a Hidden Mickey Tour with Dr. Steve Barrett, author of the Hidden Mickey books.  This was a silent auction and it came down to the last second!  Well, I actually didn't win.  The auction was benefitting Lou's Dream Team, so Dr. Barrett offered a second tour to 2nd place - therefore I won too!

What is a Hidden Mickey?  It's an image of Mickey, hidden in the parks and resorts, or on a ride.  Something the Imagineer's do to have a little fun and another level entertainment for the guests.  Sometimes there are other hidden characters or nods to previous rides or attractions.  We decided to tour the Magic Kingdom:

The Boys & 'Girls' at Fest

Every year we go to the Maryland Renaissance Festival.  This layout represents several years of fun and was also and entry for a contest on Scrapping the Magic which includes 12 different scrapbooking items.

The journaling reads:

The Maryland Renaissance Festival

Kings and Queens, Lords
and Ladies, Knights,
Peasants and even a few
Pirates. Every year my
boys and the "girls" hang
out at Fest for a day of
beer and boobs, dancing
and merry making!
